Old Newspaper

Look what I found when we cleaned my dad's cabinet. It feels like you were traveling back in time with Dr Who to some random road junction in Jakarta (preferably around Grogol) sitting in a non AC minivan seeing lots of peddlers when you still can buy the famous local criminal newspaper only with 200 rupiahs, whilst currently it is 2,000 rupiahs. cup

Au revoir mon smlXL-house....

Here is my final year physical model for Bachelor degree - which I made in 3 days - ended up as a temporary partition in front of my mom's room, because we run out of wood panel.

This was a model of some kind of Body Awareness Centre. A centre with lots of facilities from gym, health and mental consultation, restaurant, courses and spa, but the real target was actually for plus-size people. Maybe I should design it in resort style, not sure if this bulky masses suite for the purpose and it doesn't look warm/welcome enough for (if there is) anyone who have anorexic or any other body image problem.

Anyway, can't complain now since this model and the drawings successfully helped me getting a good grade at the end. I think it is still in good shape, not bad for an almost-10YO model. Ughh.. now I accidentally spill out my age.

Oh and another thing... I'm not a hoarder, but my parents are! Mom even still keeps my high school text books upstairs..

Antique shops - Surabaya St

First months I stay in Jakarta I could feel somehow Old Antique ambience is everywhere. From Eat&Eat Food Market in Kelapa Gading mall to Paser Baroe. It seems the Betawis has learnt to go back to their root - which excite me. So, to celebrate Jakarta's Anniversary and going back to old times we went to see some antiques at Jalan Surabaya.

You have to browse all the shops - that's the only way for you common people (me including) to know which are the real antiques. Most of the stuff there are quite new and they just made them in rustic or vintage effect, but I still can say that they look really cool.

I didn't buy anything there (il est trop cher pour moi! oui oui..) except just a used CD of Joni Mitchell. And now I feel totally want to sing I Wish I Was a Punk Rocker (With Flowers in My Hair).
Now let me sneak back in to my sephia world.

Bye miroir vintage

Separation from your love one is never easy. It was a really hard decision - I have to let go my dearest miroir vintage today to Monique. She promised to take care of it carefully.

Semaphore

This was like living in a Max Payne time. We went to Semaphore to watch (not-so-old) another controversial movie from Sacha Baron Cohen. There is definitely something with Semaphore Beach. White sandy beach, the unique clock tower stand right at the end of the boulevard, old look (some) of the beach house and Odeon cinema.
It just classic..

Then, I remember tram line extension plan which will reach this area. Hopefully wont become another Glenelg beach.

Vintage mirror

Found it from garage sale near our house. $5 together with a couple of blue dolphin printed glasses match with Marie's dolphin cups.
I might paint this in black next month.. or even red..
